Hi guys,

After seeing the new range of Ducky keyboards I'm sort of tempted to try one out but I much prefer typing and gaming on scissors style flat laptop keys (blasphemy here I know :p). Are there any decent gaming keyboards with laptop style keys, perhaps mechanical or otherwise just decent that has n-key rollover?

I've been using the same generic no-brand keyboard for about 5+ years now but fancy a change :)

I used to use a pretty flat keyboard ,an old cheap one i picked up in a local shop " my normal one broke" and even though it had been said to me " try a mechanical keyboard "....i wasn't really up for that at all.....but lol...after buying a Ducky Shine 2 and even though it wasn't cheap, £120 from OcUK.....i wouldn't go back to a flat or regular keyboard...it's a lot smoother and faster when typing , and when gaming it's also smoother too :)

I too would be inclined to go with a mechanical keyboard. You'll be hard pushed to find a gaming keyboard other than the Razer Deathstalker (both Ultimate/Pro).

If you're a fan of the low profile keys, the best thing would be a Cherry G80-3850 (AKA Cherry MX Board 3.0).

EDIT: This Deathstalker: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-082-RA

The pro version costs a small fortune!

Yea i have to agree with the poster, however actually have tried mechanical keys and just don't like them, they are no better in any way (in my eyes), so just don't see the point in spending more for a keyboard that makes me slower :D (however i bought the K95 and was just generally not impressed with it at all, so that probably didnt help).

Icet is the palm rest removable? Can u post a couple of pics of it in the flesh?

Will post a couple of pics later. The palm rest isn't removable.

I was actually about to post a review of it, but I'll write what I have to say here.

Pros:

Very attractive looking
Very comfortable to use and type (the palm rest feels very comfortable and the keys are well spaced)
Low profile keys make it responsive and quick to type, and also very quick to clean (nothing can really fall down behind the keys)

Cons:
Keys feel just a little plasticky. I'd have preferred more rough coated keys the same texture as the current Razer mice tops.
No braided cable. At this price point, there really should be.
No USB ports.
Expensive for a non mechanical keyboard.

Overall I love it because it looks amazing and it feels excellent typing on it. It should be £20 cheaper at least due to the cons mentioned above, so it only gets 4 stars, but if you're after a good looking keyboard that's non mechanical and has low profile keys, then this is the one for you.

I had a hands on with the Razer Deathstalker Essential (shop didn't have the Expert) yesterday and didn't like it, it has a very cheap feel and i don't like the spacing on chiclet keys:( so what now

out of those kind of keyboards I'd say razer deathstalker is a good option, not sure what others exist.

My best recommendation would be a mechanicalas you get used very quickly and will never want to turn back

Well in that case I don't know haha.

I don't like the chiclet style keys so I avoid them, This is the main reason I didn't just purchase the Deathstaler Expert (with Screen).

For a Keyboard of that price I would want something mechanical, So I went with the Razer Blackwidow 2013 Ultimate Elite.

Ooooo cant wait for it to arrive... I hate bank Holidays lol.

I have the Logitech illuminated keyboard and that is no good for gaming so I would assume that the one listed above will have the same issue. It's ghosts like a motherfunker.

The Razer Lycosa has flat keys, and from my experience feels very nice as well.

Im with you on this one please post if you find a solution.. Use an Sidewinder X6 on my PC and laptop keys on laptop :) I need a keyboard a lot like it
