Gaming keypads question

I’ve done a little search here but couldn’t really see anything that answers my question.
I’m curious to know if anyone uses a gaming keypad as a daily driver and what your experience is like vs a keyboard.

My mate moved from PS4 to PC and has played Fortnite on both platforms, but uses the controller on the PC as he can't get used to the keyboard/mouse.

Personally I would have thought it would have disadvantaged him but he's playing quite decently which I'm surprised at.

All comes down to personal preference really.

I mainly got one because I have large hands and contorting my fingers around to try and reach CTRL, Z, X, C, etc was such a fiddly pain in the bum. Using it made a lot of things notably easier!

That’s good to know, I too have large hands.

So am I right in thinking you use the joystick as wasd?
