I'm looking for a gaming laptop and there seems to be so much choice and having never bought a gaming laptop before I'm not sure what to go for.

What I'm looking for is:

Good spec to play FPS games etc.
NOT a big bulky laptop
A good screen - ideally at least 1440p
A fair amount of storage as I guess not upgradable so say 2TB SSD
Nice keyboard

I have a price in mind of £2000-£2700 but can increase a bit if the difference in performance is worth the extra.

I've always liked the look of the Razer laptops for styling but maybe you are just paying for that?..

Thanks

Thanks, let me know how it is. I'd never heard of Lenovo but apparently they are pretty good.

If I could get something decent that could play the likes of Overwatch, COD etc for around that price it would be great.

Also something I hadn't thought of, apparently gaming laptops cooling can get pretty loud, so would be interested to know how that side of things are.

Lenovo is China's biggest PC manufacturer and took over IBM's PC business in 2005. If you have a look at previous threads in this section you'll find a good number about Lenovo, mostly positive, including a mahoosive one about the Legion 5P. There's a good deal on the Gen 7 AMD version at the moment and that's what I'd go for. The 16" 2560x1600 screen that bingham67 is getting is common to Intel and AMD models and is a gem.

Very impressed with the laptop I listed above its not big and bulky although the power brick is abit large.

The laptop itself seems pretty slick and well made nice screen, I like the colour profiles got my keyboard on static green currently to match my Razer deathadder mouse.

My regret is probably not going for the bigger 17 inch version however it good enough for me.

My timespy score after setting to GPU overlock in Lenovo Vantage settings and performance mode enabled along with dedicated gpu always on.

It helps to read the rules about sales here before posting. If you don't, as you obviously haven't, your stay is likely to be short.

See if you can pick up a strix scar 17SE I have one and currently its the best laptop you can buy. Comes with 2Tb ssd, i9 1250hx and a 3080ti. The 1440p screen is lovely to look at. Overclockers had it on sale a while back.

So it should be for 4000 quid

It was on sale for 3200 when I posted. I bought mine back in August. Unfortunately at full price, but if I was looking for a laptop now then I'd wait until the 4000 series cards are out.
