I'm after a lappy for playing game, although it will mainly be WoW. Have a budget of around £1000-£1200.

I have looked at a few Dell's and even Alienware, they seem expensive though, compared to the Dell's.

Saw this posted in a thread

The ASUS AD7 is a nice notebook and can be had for just under £1000 specs are:

AMD Mobile Turion™64-MT30
Genuine Windows® XP Home
1024MB DDRII 533 Memory
100GB 5400rpm Hard Drive
128MB ATI Mobility Radeon X700
17.1"WXGA+X-Glass Widescreen
High Resolution (1440X900)
Dual Layer (+/-) DVD-RW/CD-RW
Mini PCI Wireless LAN 802.11b/g
Media Card Reader 4 in 1
Built in Video camera (1.3M Pixels)
Azalia 5.1 audio, 4 x speaker (Built in)
Weight ~3.9Kg ,Battery Life ~ 3 hrs
2 Years Worldwide Warranty

Would this run WoW fine? or do I need more power? I have no idea how powerfull that cpu is in that Asus, bit out of touch, but everything else seems fine. Are Asus laptops good? Or should I spend a little more and go for a Dell?

Thanks for any help.

although generally would look down on laptop for games, they are too costly for gaming machines, the set up looks good. the only trouble u may have is the graphics, i am not sure of demands of wow but the x700 is not particulary powerful. if u could find one that is x1600 or above would be better luck, sadly this is generally at the point when the laptop goes upto £2k.

sorry.

You can get an Asus A6JA model, they are pretty good looking,

T2300 - T2600 Core Duo
1 Gig Ram
100 Gig hdd
1600 256mb dedicated (256mb hypermem)

the T2400 model is around £1100, dont know about value though and battery life isnt really top notch, but I doubt your really buying it for that.
