I'm looking to buy a gaming laptop but i have no idea what's good and what's ****. I've got a budget of £700 and want something that'll play most games.
Can someone recommend me a good laptop and where to get it from?

Cheers

For that budget, you'll be looking at GeForce 8600M GT/9600/Radeon 3650 graphics cards. Which means you won't really be getting a stellar gaming experience.

That said, my lappie's 8600GT runs everything apart from Crysis OK on medium @ 1280x800. I'd suggest you look at Dell, Acer, or Samsung.

yea your friends right, the graphics card in the asus is not good enough, btw you shouldn't mention competitors, its against the rules on overclockers.

dell outlet for refurbished XPS machines or ebay also

i'd advise stretching your budget a little bit more ie extra 200 will get you within reach of some excellent laptops.

Dell Outlet is a division of Dell Products, selling refurbished computer equipment which is limited in quantity. This is product, which has been returned to Dell for a variety of reasons including cancellation and specification changes.

Prices in the stockroom exclude VAT and Delivery which will be added at Point of Purchase prior to submitting order.

All products have been tested and repackaged to Dell factory standards and come with a full Service Pack. High demand - so start shopping NOW - to get the system that's right for YOU!"

uhh me personally... i would not spend over £600 for a low-mid level gaming laptop

for top level gaming laptop i wouldnt spend over £1k.

£758 is overly expensive imho.

How about dont even get a gaming laptop, for the price your spending it doesnt seem worth it if you got a gaming PC instead.

you'll prob get a low end gaming laptop (All gaming laptop's are really powerfull anyway!)

But if you spent the same on a PC you could get a high spec which would last you years...

have Acer Aspire 6935G here, pretty good for gaming, the only downside is the pathetic battery life when playing games, like an hour and a half or something! it has 9600M GT and Intel 'Penryn' Dual-Core, the screen is 16" 1366*768 resolution which isn't the best for a screen that size but its a nice screen IMO :) play C&C3 at native resolution best quality settings with 4x AA and 16x AF with no noticable problems, supreme commander at native resolution, high texture detail and fidelity and get decent FPS, so if your after laptop for light/medium gaming gotta go for something like 9600M GT/GS and get latest drivers (good improvement)
