Gaming magazines

Currently subscribed to PC Gamer and GamesTM. Prefer GamesTM; great read, PC Gamer I find I hardly read any of it. Subscribed to PCZone until the very last issue. Zone went downhill in a big way in the last 2/3 years of its life imo, so I do not miss it one bit.

Will keep buying both Gamer and GamesTM until they stop publishing them. don't know why but I think it is the fact that I do look forward to them dropping through the door.

Anyone remember the old days of CVG (Computer and Video Games) magazine? IIRC it was only £2 or thereabouts and came out fortnightly.

Was a awesome mag with a brilliant team of writers, and I also remember the middle pages were printed on some yellow/brown low quality paper and was just for game cheats.

Must have been back in the PS1 era.

I used to buy CVG - it was a great mag! Games magasines were actually a vice of mine for a good few years - I collected most of them. The best of the bunch:

Super Play!

Games TM is the closest we get these days.

Are old games magazines worth anything? I have tons from when I was younger.. Sega power, Mean machines, CVG, Official dreamcast magazine.. etc. Could never decide what to do with them!

I do. Megadrive and SNES days. Tailed off (quality and quantity) mid/late in the PS1s life IIRC

:(

You could get a fair amount if they're in good nick and you have a set. I'd pay a good few 100 for a complete Super Play.

Mean Machines was good :)
