started on pcformat I think?
pc zone was the golden age - with no internets or money to buy games (I was at school!) 2x floppy disk demos and shareware was a lifeline for gaming
used to play things like syndicate one level demo over and over again
remember being very excited about a massive rebel assult 2 article in a pc zone that was like the only star wars content id had access to for years
pcgamer glory days though was great - massive CD full of doom levels etc (still before interwebs was any use) pcgamer used to be so full of content as well
now you are lucky if there is even 1 proper full blown game for them to review each month. (its a lot slimmer as well)
i still dont think pcgamer take their website seriously, future publishing websites have and still are terrible
I do long for the old days of games being released by the bucket load every month instead of what we have now of "concept" indie games in perpetual beta in their hundreds and 3 full release games (ususally sequels) coming out every november
pcgamer should embrace the website properly with actual articles rather than just uploading one line press releases
