I've a pair of Sennheiser PC150s that seem to be nearing the end of their life-span, with frequent comments regarding how the Mic seems to be cutting out.
I've taken a while searching past threads, and although a large proportion of people choose gaming headsets, there seems to be a recommendation towards a decent pair of Hi-Fi headphones and a separate mic.
Now I'm interested in picking up a quality pair of headphones as very rarely use speakers, however, for me the microphone is equally important and with a noisy graphics card and housemates background noise I don't want to settle for a cheap plastic deskmic.
I'm aware that Zalman produce the ZM-MIC, a clip-on mic, sometimes bundled with their 5.1 headphones, however it doesn't seem to be stocked anywhere in the UK.
Can anyone recommend a reliable clip-mic model, or a desk-mic model that would work well in my situation, or should I forget that idea and stick to a gaming headset?
