Gaming Monitor needed help please?

Hopefully you havnt made your decision yet.

I am a huge 1.6 geek. Its still my no1 game and I have just gone from a iiyama 19 inch CRT to the "View Sonic vx922 19 inch LCD"

I am sooooooooo impressed with this monitor. All my exeriances with tft monitors and 1.6 were awful until I got the vx922. I usually play 1.6 in 640 res and even on the tft at this res it was very playable. Although I have recently started playing in 800 res as its even smoother and you dont get any ghosting at all. Recoil feels the same as what I was used to in the CRT also.

I would 100% say go for the vx922 you wont regret it.
 
stick to crt if you love games there's no reason to go tft
wow you save a whole on average 50 ish watts in power consumption.
tft's are for web browsing crt's are for gaming.

i know crt's are for gaming but with the majority of lan's using tft's now, it would be more beneficial for me to get used to it at home as i know from exp that ingame sensitivity at 100hz feels different to 75hz and also the look etc etc.


on a side note just ordered a viewsonic vx922 this morning and should be here tomorow (wow these things are really hard to find)

i'l let you know how i get on with it :D

That's because I think they've stopped making them now.
 
I've got one & they are great, shame they are hard to find so I'm just happy I got mine at the start of july. Not even that nasty bidding site has them! oh well they will be replaced with a better screen soon more that likely.

I actually found stock at a place where a got a keyboard from, mind just googled the monitor in the usual way & its not a bad price like. I wonder why OCUK stopped selling Viewsonic kit :(

first match i found from a different supplier and most likely one of the largest etailer and in 163 delivered. I'm not gonna say where as it still classed as competition and dont wanna get bolloxed.
 
haha yeah i got mine for that :), ok guys it's sat infront of me now! must say i'm impressed with the quality (no dead pixels or bleeding which was my main concern).

as for gaming, now for some reason when i play cs1.6 with aa maxed + af max + mipmaps trilinear (or any combination of these) it seems to be very stuttery in game, not massively but i can tell it's slower? if i take these off then all is back to normal but i hate the fuzzy boxes etc any ideas why this is? or is this all to do with tft's?
 
never mind, i found what the problem was! it's damn vista forcing the refresh down to 60hz when i go into game, -freq 75 solved it in launch options of cs :D
