Do you need it to be colour accurate? (your mention of photoshop causes me to ask the question)

If so, you will be wanting to look for a VA or IPS based monitor over a TN panel monitor. These are generally more expensive and less responsive in games compared to a TN panel, but provide a wider range and more accurate colours, as well as much wider viewing angles.

This monitor uses an e-IPS panel and is also very good for games, but over budget.
This monitor uses a cPVA and is within budget, but is not very good for gaming and a touch on the small side - but within budget.
If you just want to stick with TN panels, this will do the job.

I would say that if you can find the funds, the 2209WA is by far the best option. It is simply an incredible screen for the money and will fulfil all your criteria (apart for the 2ms, but believe me when I say this monitor is fast enough).

Its just I think the W2363V is good but I can not buy it from overclockers thats very wired and its a very hard to get the W2363V any one now if this is a good monitor

If your serious about gaming - there is no compromise - get one of these:

Or the cheaper viewsonic.

Be warned tho... it does appear to be a 6bit TN panel - I can deffinatly see the difference (dithering) when compared to my 2048x panel which is using an 8bit TN (yes it really is) thats sitting right next to it and while its very clear with good contrast the color accuracy while fine for gaming is slightly off for image editing.

But for games and movies it will blow those other 2 panels away.

I don't know how much it really is the monitor but I was playing MW2 on the TFT I use for image editing, etc. and my average score was something like like 24,14, now playing on the 120Hz I'm consistently hitting scores like 37,9.

Given your criteria and price range, I would recommend the Samsung 2233RZ. Even if you're not interested in stereoscopic 3D, the 'true' 120Hz it offers (i.e. no pulldown or interlacing or anything) could certainly enhance your gaming experience.

If you click on my name and look at my profile, you'll find my website address. You'll find a nice review of the 2233RZ on there. :)

You could save yourself a bob or two, and go for this screen

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-047-IY&groupid=17&catid=510&subcat=

Its an TN panel, which has a good response time for gaming, and has all the current connections DVI, HDMI, as well as being Full HD. ;)

Don't look too much into response times quoted by manufacturers. There is more to fluidity of moving images than a quoted grey-to-grey response time. I can guarantee that you won't find an LCD monitor offering a smoother gaming/movie viewing experience than the 2233RZ for £200. The quoted G2G response time is 5ms in 2D and 3ms in 3D, but I can assure you the whole experience is better than 60Hz monitors with a 2ms response time.

Can I ask where did you see it for £200?
throuh before I had asus mointer but that did 6 yeras and now its not working lol it done me well every day use
I am very tempted with asus VK266H but then the pries is just so high asus mointers are very dear but Acer GD245HQ is that not beter than the 2233RZ as the spec is much better than 2233RZ it looks like but I was looking for is 1920x1080 but the 2233RZ has 1680x1050?

The Acer GD245HQ isn't available yet and I haven't used the monitor so I wouldn't want to comment on image quality. Specifications aren't always very helpful, but they do look promising with the Acer. It is £100 more expensive than the 2233RZ (part of it is due to the larger screen size); at 150% the price you'd expect it to be better! It depends whether you are after a 22 or 24 inch monitor, as well. 1680x1050 is a perfectly acceptable resolution for a 22 incher and some would argue works better for gaming than 'full HD' which has a somewhat scewed aspect.

I must admit i think for games should be played in 1920x1080 that's why im not going with the 2233RZ. I might consider asus VK266H or philips 244E1SB/05 or LG W2363V.

Why 1920x1080 specifically? 1680x1050 is only 15% less pixels and in terms of vertical pixels you don't loose much at all.

I have played games on both 1920x1200 and 1680x1050 monitors, I wouldn't say the gaming experience was any better on the 1200p monitor due to the resolution - you simply can't tell. Its all to do with the smoothness of the motion, the responsiveness and image quality, these things are generally independent of the resolution.

ooo, you got me sold to a 120hz --thanks for making my decision easier ! :D

Indeed. And the 2233RZ is a smaller screen so it's resolution is actually very good. It's shame to let the 'full HD' hype, which is designed for movie viewing and general standardisation, get in the way of a perfectly good monitor.
