GAMING MOUSE - SUGGESTIONS?

A vote for the Copperhead here.

I have both Copperhead & Diamondback and use both on the IceMat II glass mouse mats without any problems.

I prefer the Copperhead to the Diamondback because:
- it has a more comfortable shape (for me), the humo is slightly higher than the Diamondback
- it has better build quality than Diamondback
- the positioning of the side buttons (both sides) are more to my taste

When I was searching for a mouse it was Razer for small hands and Logitech for large hands. I have an anomaly as I have quite small palms but quite long fingers, but I find the Logitech MX518 to be really comfortable.

One problem is, sweat builds up as a disgusting gunk ontop of it.

The Microsoft Laser 6000 =P Haha, no.

What mouse do you have now? Because it's always annoying changing from say a mouse with the back and forward buttons to one without. Or just the shape of them can annoy if they're different from your current one.

As i said, best combination i've ever had the fortune of using. :)

   CF special edition, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

G5 and i'll quote someone "the best mouse i've ever owned".

Cable is good and has never snagged on my desk either.

Well recommended.

I've had a MX1000 and I currently use a G5. I hate wired mice, but I hate heavy mice even more. Give me a G7 at G5 weight (or less) and I'd be a happy chappy!!! :p

So if you're like me and need a light mouse for FPS games, go wired. If the weight doesn't bother you, wireless for the win

G5 gets my vote :D

Funny you mention that, my mate came over the other day with his G5 and the G7 was lighter due to the weights he was using. This only further indicates it's all about preference.

I have had a G5 and an MX510 and i have to say while the G5 misses a button i wish they hadn't removed, its so much smoother, it glides better and the feet dont keep falling off. Its much more accurate because of how much smoother it is imo, and plus, the scroller moves left and right as extra buttons :).

I am in for a new mouse currenlty have the MX510 but after reading this i still don't know which to get

I notice peeps saying the scroller moves left and right for extra buttons on the G5, now if i had this mouse in bf2 for example. A: can i program the scroller too a key for example b so i can put different views in bf2 as the 510 i can't seem to do it

B: is the left right action of it pretty easy to hit when in game ?

I first got the Razer Diamondback Plasma Limited Edition but got rid of it as soon as I could. It had some issues with not being detected sometimes on bootup which got really annoying. Out of the 4 side buttons (2 on each side), I could only get used to using 1 of them due to the positioning of the buttons. Worst of all were the crappy drivers (at the time - dunno about current drivers). You had to map mouse buttons to keyboard keys in windows and then map to those keys in games if you wanted to use your side buttons. Turns out its not such a limited edition either - its been on sale for ages.

I replaced it with the MX518 which I think is great. It has 5 buttons which are all easy to reach and usable. The feel and weight of it is good (for med-large hands anyway). You can change sensitivity on the fly using the small buttons below and above the scroll wheel. The only downside to the mouse is it builds up dirt on its shiny smooth surface really quick - but its not difficult to clean.

Cost wasn't an issue as if you play a lot of fps games, a good mouse can make a massive difference. I did look at getting the G5 and G7 but decided against it as I was too used to using 5 mouse buttons.

With having the 510 and liking it i think the 518 would be the logical stop, one thing i hate with the 510 is the clicky buttons, are they the same on the 518 ?

I have just recently bought the MX 1000 and to be honest im not impressed with it's performance for gaming. It don't seem as responsive as my old mouse, or maybe i just need time to adjust to using a new mouse...

If only i could replace my old Intelli Explorer 3.0 the best mouse ever made.

There's been a few versions of the MS Intelli mouse. Below is the one I had.

I absolutely loved this mouse and don't think I'll ever find a mouse with as perfect as design again.

Only problem was the 400dpi started to feel limiting :(
