Ok so guys, I'll apologize for being so naive but I'm looking for something with a bit more punch than an atom in notebook form factor. Had a look at the Acer Ferrari One and that would be my current first choice. Pretty much MUST be 500 quid or less and not weigh more than my house (I'm looking at you M11x). I've defined netbook as 12inches maximum just for reference. So basicly its a power/price/practicality showdown.

The recent announcement of the Asus Lambo netbook got my hopes up and then I saw the spec sheet and it all simultaneously fell of a cliff. Please if you're going to suggest something, I have a long running dislike of the atom platform and therefore its got to be a full fat processor. Surely there must be more out there! Any-ways I'm not interested in anything Apple so save your figurative breath on this one!
If you guys can come up with some suggestions that'd be great!

ThinkPad X201? It's small but because of the price range and its abilities I'd call it more of an ultraportable than a netbook. In any laptop of that size, though, you're unlikely to be able to do much gaming beyond HL2 or something.

Hmm ok, I think i'll stick to the Ferrari in that case. I know the processor is removable so that's always an upgrade opportunity, however any ideas as to what socket the CPU uses?
Anyways I happened to come across a Amilo Graphics Booster which seemed a good option given the Acer's XGP port. Unlucky for me they happen to be rarer then hens teeth. Any other good XGP options at the moment?
