I'm using an i7 MBP as a part-time gaming machine, but it gets quite hot when playing for long periods (as expected). I've been elevating it just using books to get some airflow underneath it, but I'm wondering if anyone can recommend something fan-assisted. I've seen the big-ish case/fan/cooling manufacturers are all doing things now, but the only one that posts any stats for effectiveness is Zalman (and 10°C improvement doesn't exactly inspire a ~£50 purchase). Can someone link me to reviews/comparisons or does anyone have experience with a stand that's being used in similar conditions (i.e., metal body laptop for gaming).
