Hey folks, new to these forums but been skulking around the site for a while now.

I haven't had a decent desktop computer in about 6 years, with business I always use a laptop for portability sake and right now it's a Sony Vaio i7 2.0ghz with 8gig ram and a Geforce GT540M installed. It's is great for work but it suffers a bit when it comes to gaming and lets face it when you work hard you want to play hard as well :)

I have approximately £1500 to spend for the main unit, no monitors or peripherals needed, and I was looking at the Titan Envy V2 i5 system OC has advertised here http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-369-OE . I'd want to upgrade the solid state drive to 120 and the secondary drive to a 2tb also upgrade the power supply to 1000w so I can add a second graphics card sometime in the new year which would bring the overall price up to about £1450 or thereabouts.

Now here comes the question am I better saving up an extra £300 and going for the i7 version with the gtx 780 and 16gb ram or are the systems close enough in spec that it doesn't really make a difference? Or perhaps a different bundle entirely?

Also with these systems do you get the free game tickets that would usually be bundled with the graphics cards? Kinda hoping to get my hands on the new Batman game ;)

The sort of games I would usually play would be DOTA 2, Bioshock Infinite, Batman Arkham series, Call of Duty and whatnot.

Thanks in advance for any advice you guys might have :)

My preference would be the 7990 over dual 280x cards as single PCB cards still have the edge in my opinion in terms of heat and power draw and in some cases performance.

Internal crossfire as far as I know has never scaled as well as conventional crossfire, how could it have an edge in performance?

Power draw I'll give you.

Heat depends entirely upon the cards and case.

I'd get an R290X personally, as I prefer single GPU.

I wouldn't really get two R280X's, could save money just getting 7970's.

The 290X may be worth waiting for..

Though 2 x 280X's looks tempting.. especially as there cheaper than standard 7970's anyway (OCUK stock).

I prefer the 750D to the 540.. I think performance wise theres not much in it..

Another fantastic build thank you but I have to ask are there any advantages with going for a crossfire based card over the geforce series? Reading up on the reviews the SLI cards seem to have better overall compatibility with the majority of games whereas the crossfires only excel with certain titles.
