Hi all this is my first post as i am new to this, i am wanting to build myself a gaming pc for games like stronghold 3 and diablo 3 and battlefield etc, i got a friends dad to build my last one which is now scrapped as very old and i am sick of console games as there is non like stronghold or diablo, i am wanting my gaming pc to play latest games and last for around 2-3 years, my budget is around £800 as i will have to also buy monitor etc, i need help with a few parts and want your oppinons on what i have listed, this is what i think would be the best so far

*mother board cpu and ram=Krypton Z68 600i Intel Core i5 2500K 3.30GHz @ 4.60GHz Overclocked Bundle + FREE RED FACTION: ARMAGEDDON GAME

*case= cm storm enforcer

*HD=Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (HD103SJ)

not sure about what is best GPU or power supply to use also should i upgrade the 4gb ram to 8gb and should i purchase sound card ?
also if i buy a bluray rom and a hd monitor will i be able to watch hd ?

any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks Dean

The i5 2500k is a great choice for gaming. Mobo depends on what features you want, a P67 or Z68 from a good manufacturer like Gigabyte, MSI, Asus, Asrock is best.

The F3 HDD is very good too, fast, reliable and a great price for lots of storage. 4GB is plenty for gaming. If you dont intend to run two graphics cards a 650w psu will do fine, I'd recommend Corsair, XFX and OCZ brands.

Forget about a sound card for now, save a few £££ because the motherboard will have adequate onboard sound.

Graphics card comes down to budget because £800 can be tight if you also need operating system and a monitor too. ATI offer best value right now, HD6950 is a good choice if want the most out of games like BF3.

Cases are subjective but I'd highly recommend CoolerMasters CM690II at your budget. Brilliant quality case with tons of room but very affordable.

my £800 buget is just for the tower not including the monitor, the mother board is a z68 one its in the bundle section so you get i5 processor overclocked and mother board and the ram, is it better getting the overclocked ones and will they last for 2-3 years (wont be gaming 24/7 just few hours every night) ?

also will a 650w psu do the job then ? any good recomendations ?

still not sure at all about a good graphics card to get that will play latest games for 2-3 years ?

and will this pakage fit the cm storm enforcer case , think it will since it says fits atx motherboards ?

also if i buy a hd monitor and bluray drive will it be better quality and play hd etc just making sure processor and everything will work correctly

thanks a lot for help weyland

If you but the components seperate it is a lot cheaper and you will get more for your money.. overclocking that cpu, with that mobo is 1 click !

i wouldnt have a clue how to overclock a cpu and should i not get bluray dvd drive so can watch bluray films, how hard is it to overclock the cpu ur self ?

its only £30-£40 more for the cpu already overclocked with the kit including cpu cooler and ram and motherboard and cpu, think might be safer to just buy already overclocked and will also be covered on the warranty then

£40 for your Bluray player - get a bluray instead of the dvd rom ?
It is literally a couple of clicks on your mouse in the mobo's ui to overclock that processor... there are threads on here to help you. If you needed help theres lots of people here that would help you through it..

i like the look of that card do you think i should buy when its on offer the decide rest of system after this week while still deciding ? will this card play latest games for a few years and no problem ?

thanks Dean

well think might do what you say and buy evrything seperate then learn how to overclock myself, does overclocking the cpu mean it will still last a few years ?

If you need help to build or oc, there's always people here to help you. It will make no difference to the cpu, as it is unlocked for overclocking - so long as you don't go mad and have enough cooling.. ;)
That case is big enough to expand if you wish later and you will get a good overclock no problems.

The pic in this thread by Davefran, shows how easy it is to oc that board and cpu ..

It used to be, but not so much with the newer boards, unless you want high oc's.

I actually like that case, i was after it but it was out of stock at the time :(
Yes it should all fit, fine and the mobo has usb 3 on the board and a front usb3 panel aswell as pcie3 for future upgrades !!!

The gpu will play the games u mentioned without breaking a sweat...
The offers change daily/ weekly so have a look round when your ready to order, but that sort of spec will see you ok m8.

Yeah go for bluray they normally come with power dvd with support for bluray playback. I got that bundle myself a couple of weeks ago and i'd def let overclockers do the overclocking and you'll get warranty. Seriously mate that gear you picked is fantastic and will def last 3 years, great choice.
