now this is phase two, with these parts, not sure about the memory, but could i overclock the memory more than the overclocked q6600?

I think the ram's a bit overkill tbh, id go for something along the lines of This.
Id also swap the fan for this because they seems to work quietly for the amount of airflow.

The RAM's rather expensive and not needed, for a little bit more you could get 4GB RAM.

Just need a case, hdd and a possibly a OS and your done ;)

Yeah thats the ram i was going to go for, but this SLi memory has caught my eyes so i get the pc2-6400c4, abit cheaper and i changed the cpu fan.

i got a case already anways and two 320 seagate drives and everything else so thanks people so far. :)

Why dont you want the crucial ram that will almost certainly overclock to 1000mhz and above? You can get 4gb of 1000+mhz for 130quid inc delivery if you buy that cruical ram and overclock it... but if i told you were id have to kill you.

Thers have been screenys of Q6600 Go versions being stable around 3.8ghz as well in america. Might wana wait out for them.

yeah i haven't order yet just trying to get feed back here first, and these Go versions aren't they just the same idea as the "AMD cool'n'quiet" with lowering the cpu speed until more cycles are needed and then the mhz increases?

Wrong. Q6600/G0 Stepping has slightly lower temps & power draw, a higher maximum temperature tolerance which all equals to better/higher overclocks!

& Intel have their own C'n'Q & its called SpeedStep :)

Why that HSF? Most here recommend Thermalright Ultra-120 for the HOTTER Quads!

Oh thanks didnt know that, yeah i was looking at that heatsink too but i didn't think it would fit in to my coolermaster ATC-110 case, the Noctua NH-U12F heatsink looks good to, trying to work out if i can get a bigger case.
