Gaming PC

Can clearly tell thats a pre-built, you can do much better if you're willing to build yourself, and even if not you can probably do better by looking at OcUKs range of gamer systems, the gfx card isnt up to spec with the rest of the machine tbh
Edit: what price range you looking at?

The setup looks good but I would say to spend a couple more quid and get a better GPU like the HD4890.You'll be able to play those games at decent FPS but it really depends on what resolution you playing at.And you haven't specified what mobo an PSU the system has.And what will you do with 2640GB of hard drive space?is that really necessary?

All fine but I'd spend a bit more on a graphics card if this is just a gaming PC.

Upgrade to an ati 5XXX series - 4850 is old tech. if this takes you over your budget you can always downgrade processor to an i5.

Graphics card will make the most difference to games.

Is this a prebuilt system?

as others have stated change the gpu...

a 5770 or better would be a good choice.

Also vista is well crap, get windows 7

why have a 1tb drive and a 640gb one? Either have 2x 1tb drives or change the 640gb one to an ssd (64/80 gb?)

Like mentioned above, dont get a new system with vista, make sure it has W7 and also the graphics card should be a 5 series , not the old 4.

Thank you for those helpful answers about the GPU, but I will want to play on this one for a while so can you guys please just tell me if this will run the games I listed and not that I need to upgrade?

Yeah exactly, I don't want to build my own and chose to go for PC World instead, anyway, what do you think guys, will this specs run the games listed, I don't want to upgrade just tell me.

@Dunners: Dude, I just posted twice I don't want any upgrade or get another PC answers and that I just want answers to tell me if the games I listed at the first post will run on this system, read please...

i think what people are trying to say to the OP is that..... a 5 year old computer could probably RUN the games listed but theres a long way from running a game to running a game with the best graphics settings and at a smooth framerate. The computer listed isnt too bad for a prebuilt computer, but if theres anyway to swap out the graphics card then it would be better because this is the weak point of this system by a longshot and is also the most crucial part for gaming

First off manbearpig I'd take that link down before you have a little holiday from the forums ;)

Secondly to the op, that pc is a little overpriced for the spec. Nobody can really tell you how well it's going to run your games until we know what resolution you're intending to play them at? For example if you own a 19" monitor it will run most modern games fine @1440x900, if however you're intending to game @1920x1200 on a 24" screen then I would seriously consider upgrading it to something with a bit more horsepower 5850 or 5870 maybe.

At the end of the day you're paying through the roof for that spec, and if you built it yourself you'd be able to get far better quality parts for your money. I can only imagine that it will have some cheap generic mainboard and ram and will more than likely be very restrictive when it comes to overclocking, if this is what you were intending to do with it?

As has been mentioned in a couple of other posts, you will get a far better system for your money from overclockers, and if you really can't be bothered to build it yourself they also sell ready assembled machines which will have miles better parts than the pc that's been linked to above.

The graphics can be upgraded later on, that's not a problem, but I will want to enjoy this for at least 3 monthes after purchase.

You say it can be upgraded at a later date, but you don't know what psu is in the system? If it's just enough for a 4850 then unfortunately it's going to be no good for a 5850/5870, or for that matter more or less any video card that's better than a 4850. Like I also said in my previous post, if it's some cheapy generic mainboard then you will struggle to overclock your cpu which will hold back (bottleneck) any future video card upgrades. I know GTA 4 loves quads and the higher the clock speed the better. Seriously if you're going to blow 800 quid on a new machine at least do a little bit of homework before wasting your money, surely you want best value for your hard earned cash?

BTW If it's purely for gaming then I'd probably suggest going down the core i5 route and spend more of your budget on the video card.

If you tell us what size monitor you have, we can then give you a rough idea of how well games will run on it.

Theres a bit of confusion here, do you want the best advice on what to buy? or do you want to be told this system is great? cos theyre completely different ends of the spectrum Im afraid

My belief is that in any PC W&*^d situation any advice is good advice especially from these forums.

Although I would imagine if soemone gave him the PC and he was stuck with it it could be quite infuriating!! Take it back get a refund...the sooner the better...still could be worse I do believe that the mobo etc should be a little bit better than the generic tosh dished out by Dell!
