[Gaming] & [Regret]

I may regret it in the future when I need glasses from staring at my TV or my monitor for too long. Saying that I only doing it when my girlfriend is either at work or decides she wants to watch crap like Coronation Street, Eastbenders, Emmerdale or X Factor.

No, because i've meet many people throughout online gaming that I've met and become friends with in real life, and at the gaming tournaments I go to.

I am a bit abnormal though as I'm more of a social gamer than most. I don't play single player and I seek out live competition where possible.

Being a gym rat is far more anti social.

I'm the same I rarely play 1 player games and been like that for about 10 years or so now.

Certainly not no.

The idea that playing video games is a waste of time is completely stupid.
We all have different ideas of what is worthwhile and what isn't. I maybe spend 20-25 hours a week gaming but what I do is make sure I have other things i can do when finances permit it.

Sometimes i'll put in 40 hours in 1 week gaming...

If i had nothing else in my life, then yes i'd probably regret it. But the fact is, i've still found time to have an enjoyable social life, see my family, buy a house with the love of my life, and travel the world seeing different cultures, landscapes and participating in extreme sports. In the last 3 years i've spent 30 nights in luxury suites in Vegas, drinking cocktails, going to the theatre and fine dining (over 3 trips) and also spend 7 days each Snowboarding in the Austrian Alps, and the Slovenian Alps...and took a full 9 day tour of Egypt's temples and sights, plus a 3 day luxury nile cruise.

I really really hate the stigma a gamer gets for spending such large amounts of time gaming. The point of what I said above was that you can do all of these things a couple of times a year, but you need a hobby you can do all year round. If i was rich, i'd travel the world constantly and never game, but i'm not and likely never will be. So i went out and got myself into a great career with a good pay, which can fund a nice house and a couple of nice holidays a year...but the rest of the time...I play video games.

Sorry to go overboard, but i've been called some nasty things plenty times over headsets online for winning in games and now whenever a question like this comes up I really drive my point home. lol.

Even if you don't do other things, gaming isn't a waste of time. If something in life gives you joy or entertainment, it is NEVER a waste of time no matter who says it is.

On the other hand, i have pout many hours into a game i never ended up enjoying fully which was a waste!

No I have never thought it was a waste of time. To be honest I wish I had more time to play games.
I would on average play about 3 or 4 hours a night, but thats after I have done everything I needed to do that day. Leave out the rubish get my daughter fed watered and off to bed. THEN I would sit down to some gaming.

As stated above by most people it has never effected my social life I would'nt play any games over the weekend except for Sunday nights, I keep the weekends for me and the girlfriend. But the weekday nights are mine and especially in the winter weather.

Its my Hobby, some people collect stamps, play football, paint models, its what ever you enjoy.

So no I have never felt and probably never will fell guilty :)

(also helps if you have an understanding Girlfriend)

nope.. helps me relax/its something i like to do.. but I'm not as big of a "gamer" as I used to be even tho my day-to-day tasks haven't changed much

No it's not, I do both and you meet and talk to people in gyms too.

Don't try an convince yourself the only place to meet randoms is online.

I don't think its a waste of time as I game when I would otherwise be bored (misses watching The only way is essex for example)

Chill, I'm a gym rat myself.

When I say live competition I don't mean sitting on my own playing online, I mean going to tournaments and arcades.
