EDIT: beaten to it by melbourne, I would say the sound card is worth it but maybe not that one. Try the X-fi Xtreme music, same as before minus "X-ram"

We concur, which is good. :D

Take home message, don't spend a fortune on the RAM!

I defer on the sound card to those more knowledgeable :)

:D

I'd stay with XP for games, go to VISTA for anything else. I'll probably go to vista in about 3-6 months, but only when they sort out the 8800 drivers!

Out of curiosity, what size monitor have you got already? I know that you said you don't need one speccing but there really is no point going for an uber gaming system and £300+ of high end graphics if you are using only a 20" (1680x1050) resolution monitor or below.

Perhaps aim for around £1200 of computer bits and invest £600 in a top notch monitor..

I have a dell 24" 1920x1200 got it when it was on this week only month or so back.

Think it should be fine

Edit...

Supose I can always buy Vista later tho is 64-bit ever gonna be better for games than 32-bit ?

I dont mind running duel OS .

Oh I want it all NOW!!! must wait must wait

Ok looked over everything people have given me plus talked with friends that have some bits they like and have come up with this. Please do slate it again. I have gone over board on some items like PSU and mobo as they are brands and types I have used before\trust.

1. Does the spec work together? Will it all fit in the case does the mobo work with ram etc...
2. Anything that I can change to make it better?
3. Have I missed anything critical out? oops forgot the mobo etc :)

Any reason you didn't get the 64-bit version of Vista? I know there aren'ts many applications that are 64-bit yet, but you do have a 64-bit processor, so why not get the 64-bit version :)

Is there an issue with drivers 64-bit. Its more for games in the long run and I was told by some mates that 32-bit would run them better. TBH I have no idea :)

anything else ? I am dying to hit that order button ! :)

Moleh

Oh, ok I'm not too sure, about driver issues with 64 bit but I have heard that Vista in general (32 and 64 bit) doesnt perform as well in current games. I'm not getting Vista until its a bit more established (when I graduate in June :p) as for the delivery if you are not in they will more than likely take it to their depot, use their website to find out which is closest to you. They will also leave a note, to say the time it was delivered etc. Last time I didn't pick something they decided to re-deliver it @ 5 so luckily I was in the second time around :)

Getting loads of views so I guess the spec aint that bad or someone may have said something ?:)

Gonna order in 60mins i guess people post now if anythig is wrong :)

Ok got the 64-bit version on the list now will combo that with XP which I have alrdy got a none oem license of. Picked up a DD-rw

Think the rest is ok then ?

miss print :)

went for the
EVGA nForce 680 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

Just liked it really, so with this A ok >? :)

Moleh

I really like what NVidia have done with the 680 motherboard, and the evga is another good example of it. I went for the BFG in the end, but they're both good.
