I would change the sound card to the Creative X-Fi Extrem music. For gaming the Extrem music is better as you can use EAX in Game mode, and switch mode for music etc...

And maybe the GFX card to either the BFG 8800 gts 320. The EVGA is a lot dearer, if your going to get that card, you may as well add the extra few £ and get a 640mb 8800 GTS....

Just my thoughts...

Already got an Antec case from my previous PC.Also be carrying over my optical drives.

My major worry with the above spec is the motherboard and memory.I won't be overclocking at first so my initial concern would be ease of setup and stability.

Also having always gone with crucial ram, will the geil stuff work out of the box with the motherboard.

I'm quite happy to pay more for either to guarantee compatability if anyone has any suggestions :)...my last build was an AMD XP2800 / X800XL system so I've been out of the loop for a while.

Thanks for the suggestion mate..will consider both. Will the 640Mb version be overkill at 1280 x 1024 ? I don't mind spending the extra providing it's worth it :D

The P5B-E has 7.1 on board sound... these days onboard sound is very good anyway. I'd leave the sound card and upgrade your 8800 320MB to a 640MB or GTX if u can stretch that far :p

Everything else is fine really. I'd personally get a Corsair HX instead of the Seasonic S12... but thats just me :p

The 320mb will run fine at that res. The EVGA is £240 v the BFG @ £205 ?

Personally i would get the BFG 320mb for £205 and wait for ATI to bring out their new R600 cards and also wait until the new dx10 games come out and see how it fairs then...
Also you may want to upgrade your monitor in the future so you might find an upgrade at a later date will be on the cards?

Well tbh it's not wroth paying extra for an overclocked card when you can just do it yourself. I'd have said the 320MB 8800GTS if it were actually in stock. :)

My 2 cents- why not buy the e6300 and overclock it to 6400 speeds? saves yourself a little bit of money, and is easily acheivable.
