Hiya,

I have a friend who is about to get into gaming with his partners consent. :D

Requirements are thus -

Monitor - no bigger than 24" as he has limited space
Headset instead of speakers as he needs to play quietly
Full base unit as we are starting from scratch, no need for OS though as we'll hunt around
Keyboard and mouse

Have at it chaps (or ladies :o )

Thanks

This is for the tower only..

As for the headphones i recommend
HyperX Cloud Gaming Headset for PC/PS4/Mac/Mobile - Black you can get these for £50 don't get the hyper x with usb sound card your better off without that.

So that is 500 quid already used up for tower and headphones, a monitor will cost 100 quid so that is 600 quid, 20 quid is enough for a keyboard and mouse i think will have to shop around.

As mentioned above second hand would get you a better build but the G4560 is a great value gaming CPU.

I haven't added a keyboard combo but corsair do a decent one for approx £20 and pick a headset of your choice. I've also picked a case with no optical drive bay - so keep this in mind:

EDIT: @lltfdaniel - a solid spec (beat me to it :))

Nah, it's really easily done - i started off a post today with a 3GB GTX 1060. Took me ages to edit it out of all the builds.

Mm yeah 3gb vs 6 gb is all depends how long you will have the gpu.

I'd pick the 3gb because i would upgrade with every new refresh of the gpu market like vega, vega is coming out so yea will have to see.

It was kind of you to have mentioned anyways plec, have a good day.

Anyways yeah since i have bought a lot of headphones over 10..with a cost of about 200 quid each time, the hyper x @ 50 quid i mentioned will be a good buy based off the takistar pro 80 i hear.

Thanks all, it's like a little speccing war haha, it is a tight squeeze but that's women for you... ;)

Certainly something to work from, cheers. :)

It may be worth getting a Gigabyte board as Gigabyte now offers a service where they collect the board from you and flash it to the latest bios free of charge. See here, 3rd post down.
