Does this work well in practise....if so what software do you use for it?....the menus i mean?

It works, I use it a lot like this:

I have various buttons configured for different menus "catagories" like "encoding apps" and another button to load a menu with "media apps" of my choice and other button to load "Internet apps" like steam/xfire msn etc etc. I have the msn button to load mIRC too and the homepage button to load firefox as well as the email button which loads gmail in a new tab automatically.

It's really useful.

I never noticed that....thanks....I have the MX3100 so i have lots of buttons I can play with...............cheers

Lol....i am just discovering my keyboard now, there is shed loads i can do it.........I have playlists changing at the louch of a button....its excellent

i just have a windows toolbar stretched across the top of my screen. it's the desktop folder and it's set to 'always on top' so it doesn't get covered by any app. :)

zero resource usage... :p

I like this method. But I also like Psypher5's set up how did you do it?

BTW how do I set my desktop always on top and aint that the same as having a bunch of icons on your desktop?

Whats the best Win XP Theme to use? I like a cold blue silver Vista type, but not the actual Vista theme. Please provide linkage.

to set yours like mine, you need to temporarily unlock your taskbar (if it's locked :p). right click the taskbar>toolbars>desktop. now drag the toolbar to the top of the screen. right click this toolbar and do the following

-untick 'show text'
-untick 'show title'
-tick 'always on top'
-select view>large icons

you might want to hide the icons on your desktop as they are now redundant. also lock the taskbar at the bottom if you want. :)
