Athene and crew doing some crazy stuff for charity over at http://gamingforgood.net/. Raised over $5million for charity thus far!

You can donate to charity and earn points, then spend those points on games and stuff from various developers.

Check it out!

Remember watching Athenes diablo 3 event thing where he killed Diablo with only a crossbow attached to his char. The money he's raised is incredible.

Woohoo...this is totally not sarcasm...woohoo!

While it is perhaps nice and all, I will never endure this man's ego.

i actually dont like the guy either but found it funny the kind of appeal he has on a broader scale, he even had Bashiok and Zarhym (2 blizz employees) in his twitch channel chatting with guys watching.

I much preferred watching wowhobbs and crendor on their streams afterwards tho :0

If you can appreciate that Athene's "trolling" is all an act it becomes instantly more enjoyable. That act is what made him famous, all the old WoW trolling videos are what put him on the map. He doesn't make half as many of those videos anymore, probably because he wouldn't be able to do that and raise all this money for charity at the same time. That wouldn't work. Athene as a troll, sure he has a massive ego. As a fundraiser I don't think you could be further from the truth. You'd understand this if you just watched 30mins of his stream.

Yes, he's a joker. The video of him joining the yogscast for a mincecraft video, getting confused about how to "win" this game, and turning it into a deathmatch-style game was pretty funny.

So much this.

Never heard of him but the I don't play the games he's playing or get involved at a 'scene' level in any games anyway, so good on him for raising some cash for a good cause.
