gammon joint in crock pot

How long does it take to cook some gammon, 1.4kg, in a crock pot on high do u reckon? Ive just put it on now with some chopped onion on base and filled with hot water from kettle to cover it.

Saying that, to boil then oven it it's around 30mins/500g boiling and then 20-30 mins in the oven to finish off.

Erm i know how to do it and u dont need to do that google crap on me mate. I was looking for non google replies and second i just wanted to know how long on high as usually i would hav done 8 hrs on low but im trying high this time as I didn't get up early enough to do a low setting cook session.

It's not hard I don't see why anyone "non google" would be able to give you a better answer than what is spelled out on the first few links.

Generally I cook everything either 8 hours low or 4 hours high. Seems to be the same for most recipes I use.

To be honest you've just got to experiment as "high" on one slow cooker is totally different to "high" on another, if I chuck a pork shoulder in mine on "low" nevermind how long I leave it it'll be tough put it on "medium" though and it's falling apart perfectly after 8 hours.

It's not like you can really overcook it.

I find the low on my slow cooker you really need to give a good 12 hours+ to something to get it to the tender stage, but popping on high you get great results at 8 hours.

As said, varies from cooker to cooker!
