Hey everyone,

I am interested in having something built in the garden, maybe 7 meters by 4 meters type of building, it would be used as an office so needs to be hugely secure and not easy to break into, have double glazing and good heating for the winter time, what sort of cost can be expected? I want to to be well built and a permanent structure.

I would guesstimate £20k+ if someone is building it for you.

There are lots of self build videos on YouTube for garden buildings, so this will give you an idea of the work involved.

Something that large and permanent will probably need planning permission.

As above, we could guess an amount, which looks reasonable, but you would be better to engage an architect/builder and that will give you a better idea on cost.

Nobody can give an accurate price here because the spec you choose and local labour costs will dictate that. Obviously doing it yourself will save you many many thousands here.

For heating look at split aircon system, very efficient and you get cooling in summer which you'll need.
