Garden makeover

Ponds are expensive, I have a torpical aquarium and whenever I go to LFS I always look at the pond section, some of the fish are going for £500 a pop

I generally prefer to buy them small, feed them well and watch them grow :)

Much more rewarding when they actually get to a decent size, even if it does take a while.

Less disappointment if they die too :D

Started the pergola, this serves two purposes......to keep the herons at bay and some shade in the summer.

The uprights are new 8x4 sleepers with 8x2's for length way beams and 4x2's for the cross members.
The uprights are held by 6" TIMco concrete screws, screwed into the pond wall.

I don't get it. If it's already been finished then why post periodic photo updates of the build progress every few days and not just stick them all in the first post  Odd.

Looks great though!
I don't spend hours sitting in the forum posting pics, I got a life :)

Rendered the pond wall and painted then covered ready for the fiberglasser.

Also started thinking about my filter layout.

Belle approves :)

Fibre glassing started Its being done by a professional as it can go very wrong and kill all your fish by styreene poisoning.
