So we've been renovating a property for the last couple of years. Last year we turned our focus to the overgrown jungles that were the gardens with a full resent needed, se we had all the old hedging removed and garden dug over with a digger. This year I will be looking to run a winding pathway from a small porcelain patio area we'll create near the front living room window and entrance door where we'll be able to have a table and chairs and a garden pond. The path will be approx 20m long with a deep garden border on one side and a grassed area on the other, broken up with a number of new trees.
For the path I was originally thinking of carrying on the same porcelain at intervals/spaced with gravel in between to firstly help reduce costs a little but also to make it feel less concrete like in appearance. I'm keen on a good level of edging either side of the path to prevent the grass from getting out of control etc.
So first idea is dark pavers/kerb stones for the edging with porcelain slabs spaced out and gravel infill. I'm just wondering if anyone else happens to have gone through the process recently and has any other suggestions. This is our forever home, and so I'd like these paths to be easy to maintain and to prevent vegetation and leaf debris building up, which can be the case with gravel.
I'll be doing all the work myself, digging out the area, laying a 10 to dust type sub base and wackering it down. I'll be laying the front patio area too with some help
