Hah, I thought these were before and after shots,
and was thinking damn that guy is fast :D

What do you want a summerhouse for though?
Afaik nobody actually sits in them.

WTF is a summerhouse and what do you use it for?

looks like a fancy shed to me and a complete waste of money. why not patio the area, stick in a gazebo and you can have barbeques?

Quite like that boarder around the edge of the patio - anyone know where you can get something similar?

As for those summer houses, I personally think those wooden gazebo type things you see in B&Q and other garden centers are pretty good. My uncle has one and really does the job and looks great.

What exactly do you use a summer house for? Even if that example is an exercise bike, surely it would be better stored in a shed and brought outside when the weather is nice? If it's raining, you're not going to run across the garden to use it. I simply don't understand them :p

Good luck with the garden though!

if it was a lot larger then yeah it could be useful, but a tiny one then all it is a fancy shed.

why you would need to spend £500 to store an exercise back in your fancy shed in the back garden though is beyond me, i would rather the exercise bike be in front of a TV or something and inside the home.

otherwise get a normal bike and cycle outside. the example photo looks stupid to me.

OP what do you plan on using the summer house for? if it's entertaining then a patio with a normal gazebo would be fine. if you need storage space then get a shed.

Personally, not summer houses, I don't see much use for them as they are just too small.

I think i'd be looking at building something there but bringing it as far out as the clothes pole in the 1st picture.

Insulate it, book cases, desk and maybe a tiny log burner or heater and use it all year round as an office :)

Or don't bring it out quite as far, add some decking to bring it out to the pole then just throw some massive bean bags, pillows, hammocks etc in there and bookshelves and have a proper chill out room :)

I forgot I made this thread - Sorry to disappoint I never bought a summer house (bought a bathroom, windows & doors instead!)

Anyway heres some pics
