An offshoot of the Tomtom thread I thought this might be useful for some peeps 
These mainly apply to Nuvi devices but may work on others too. Some models may not be supported by all functions. I found these out on my Nuvi200 widescreen.
1: View satellite lock and accuracy + positonal info
Press and hold the reception bar for 3-5 seconds then let go.
2: System diagnostic screen (battery info, system info, LCD charts, audio testing etc etc)
Press and hold the battery meter for 5~ seconds and the diagnostic screen will appear, you can cycle through using the next/prev buttons onscreen.
3: System log + other (non useful) information
In Map view mode press the bottom left speedo icon to enter the trip computer screen. Here press hold the big speedo indicator for several seconds and the below screen will appear
4: Touchscreen calibration
If you turn on the Nuvi keeping the power button held down the calibration menu should appear.
