Garmin Sat Nav

Hey,

What are the Garmin sat nav units like compared to TomTom units? I need a new Sat nav and am seeing a lot of Garmin units around.

They're decent, but no where near as good as TomTom. If you've had TomTom before, you won't like the Garmin.

The interface is poor, the speed camera database is poor, the road speeds database is tiny, and their 'live traffic info' is limited, and not even as advanced as TomTom's basic cellular traffic service.

I have one and have used an old TomTom. They're rather similar in reality. I prefer the interface in the Garmin though. Feels nicer to use IMO. Plus I can change the car icon to a pirate ship
