I've bought a gas barbecue. I know I know. But I attend a few shows and festivals and it's portable.

Thing is it's come with a propane reg.

Can I just simply buy a butane reg and swap them over or will the burners not take butane?

Yes you can use either butan or propane.

Let me know if you want to get in to the pros and cons and ensuing arguments about which is best.

There's only one pro/con I'm bothered about.

10kg Propane £99
13kg Butane £38

That's for a new bottle & gas.

To the ones that think I'm being a heathen for using gas instead of charchal, yes you're absolutely right. However this is for a portable BBQ to be used at events where a charcoal one isn't pratical.

If you're looking at Homebase, 10kg Propene is £99 the first time, as you have to 'buy' the bottle as well.

Then it's £54 to refill (exchange the bottle for a full one).

I had to use the smaller 5kg bottle, as I wanted the bottle stored inside the bbq.
