Being that it's burned for soo long that's something I've asked myself to. There's got to be tonnes of the stuff.
probbably too expensive, and if the gas is leaking out too much hassle as lots of it will escape and fill the air around the drill site with poisonous explosive gas.
If that is the case you would have thought they would have simply put some pipes over it filled with water either as a heat source or to power a turbine.
