my mate has got this piece of ****
its got vista on it, and it runs like a snail
can someone point me to any drivers for it if i want to downgrade it for him to XP
esp the lan, audio
cheers
i havent got it in front of me yet so im trying to source the drivers in advance

what makes you think anyone here can find the drivers any easier than you can? :/

i dont understand, i thought forums were where people talked about stuff and shared info, what do you come here for, to come out with sarcasm????
what the point,
that link as i have found out prior to your reply gives jack for that model number,
also i was after downgrade which i doubt would be listed on the product website,
any other constructive comments???

with regard to finding stuff ant easier, i was looking for someone who might have doen this, instead of having to search the earth for drivers,
which as you no doubt know may be obscure but will still work

Forums are about sharing info, however we are not going to do the hard work in finding them if they are infact, that obscure.

Easy ones are graphics, and possibly chipset.

Go and look in the system information plus dxdiag for some more info. Or even try CPU-Z!

i very much doubt anyone here has that specific model. most people round these parts build their own. so i reckon you'll have to wait until you have the hardware in your hand before you can search for what you want?

or maybe check if it has any free ram slots and upgrade it? assuming it's ddr2, that's dirt cheap and will allow him to keep running vista. vista loves ram but doesn't care about other hardware.

Used eMachineUpgrade before. Also a handy support forum is Unofficial eMachines Forum

From the model number E4216 (assuming a European model) on this page it lists motherboard as D945GCCRG1, so take side off case side and check that's correct before downloading drivers.

Intel might have newer drivers if get them direct from there this link.

If you have a dedicated graphics card you'll need to go to other sites to get that driver.
