I don’t really have much of an opinion on the news channel, but I do on the thread title.

“8 o’clock tonight” or “8PM today”, surely? You don’t need to say “8PM” and “Tonight”. Right?

Yes, I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I don’t think I bumped my head as well though.

I must've had my head in the sand, what's all this about then?
A new news channel spearheaded by Andrew Neil. Some are calling it a potential UK Fox News, which remains to be seen, but it has a lot of right leaning hosts, including an ex brexit party MEP and pro brexit election candidate.

It also has the historian Neil Oliver, who is known for being very pro-union, so the channel will obviously be very much against Scottish independence.

LOL, I'm not particularly interested in watching it but it does amuse me that the woke crowd has been going nuts about it for some months now - trying to threaten advertisers etc.. The very fact it exists is seemingly "traumatic" for them. I guess not unlike some of the posters on here who cry "racism" at literally anything involving race and/or try to get any threads discussing a sensitive subject shut down.

First presenter tonight is Dan Wootton, ex sun journo and current DM columnist.

Ah yes, the same wonderful journalist who wrote articles for The Sun going after Caroline Flack which possibly contributed to her mental health deterioration, and then subsequently self-promoted his Drive Time show on talkRadio to exploit the tragedy, with his promoted his monologue saying:

“Dan Wootton will today launch his new Drive Time show on talkRADIO with a personal reflection on his relationship with Caroline Flack following the presenter’s tragic death."

What a wonderful journalist and human being.

They have a mix of people, including some I follow online like Andrew Doyle and Inaya Amin and it won't be rolling 24/7 news like the big 2 so that's good. Too often on BBC especially they're have a talk about an issue any all the panellists have exactly the same views, I want some debate/back and forth like you get on decent podcasts these days. Can't get it on the crusty old Freesat box at work though where we're supposed to have a news channel up on the wall TV (during daytime hours anyway).
