GC Killzone 2 Multiplayer trailer

Is it not the people who are playing the game that are talking?

Surely.. I cant be having American voices doing that all the time when playing.. no wait..

But that sniper bit.. sniper rifles and cloaking makes me moist! Want!

The first 50 second of the trailer reminded me of the MGO trailer, but then all hell broke loose :D The voiceovers confused me a little bit though - I couldn't tell whether they were people playing the game (likely voiceactors with scripts) or in-game shouts.

Btw... does any else feel like everyone looks... short in this game? Maybe the body proportions aren't quite right.

they where people playing the game (possibly with a script) as the sniper saying "aww can;t i have anything better than this pistol, owww need a medic" as he dies would be a little weird.

Just watched the trailer and I think this game looks better everytime I see it.... Wasn't really bothered about Killzone 2 at all a year ago!

Bots are confirmed for the MP part of this game
US, August 22, 2008 - It was announced here at the German Games Convention that the multiplayer component of Killzone 2 will in fact have bots. During a private demonstration of the game, a representative mentioned that AI bots were being officially unveiled just for Leipzig.

The bots will serve a number of helpful uses, including acting as a good practice target during offline play, extra characters for online matches and providing you with a human-like companion. Although we didn't have the chance to see the bots in action, they're just another reason we're really looking forward to the game come next year.

I like big bots !! Hopefully the AI of bots are upto Unreal standard at least, there pretty good on the higher levels.

Killzone 2 Multiplayer Hands On - Five Good Things

5.Combat Itself: Killzone 2 multiplayer manages to maintain the fluid speed of the single player experience without sacrificing the looks that get the game featured in so many “look how pretty this game is” magazine spreads. Combat takes place at the perfect speed for me - not Unreal quick, but not Lost Planet slow. Just right.

4. Spawning Mechanics: Dying in Killzone 2 multiplayer brings up a map of possible spawn points, as well as a camera displaying what is going on at each locations, allowing you to pick the location that best fits your play style. When playing with a squad, players can choose to respawn on their squad leader to get right back into the action. Very handy when your squad leader finds himself all alone guarding an objective with tons of enemy inbound.

3. The Badge System: The Badge system represents the different classes you can play in multiplayer, from scout to engineer to medic. Each of the six badges have their own skill sets. Where Killzone 2 makes things interesting is that you can combine the power of two badges to create your own class based on your own particular play style. Want an engineer with healing skills? A stealthy soldier with a bazooka? Knock yourself out!

2. Dynamic Missions: Instead of playing one mission type and then waiting for the new map to load before beginning another, Killzone 2 features dynamic missions, which allows you and your friends to play through multiple game types on one map without loading.

1. Fully Destructible Toilets: Yes, I checked.

basically 2142 then =/

I used to play 2142 quite a lot and tbh the gameplay looks nothing like it, the scenario is the same i'll give you that, but this game seems to focus mainly on infantry combat unlike 2142 which was primarily vehicle based combat.

It looked surprisingly good to me however i will remain dubious until i actually play it, killzone 1 was dire.

Sounds good :D

i had lost interest over the last few trailers but i downloaded this trailer from psn and its pulled me back in, its looking great :D. hoping to see more of the multiplayer

basically 2142 then =/

edit: in response to video

Not really I think it sounds more like TF2, 2142 you picked a class and a weapon/equipment load out. Each class had there own equipment they could use ie engineer could repair stuff, only infantry could heal, support carried ammo packs etc. In KZ2 each class has a primary and secondary perk, for example the sniper primary the cloak ability and the secondary some kind of UAV call in, the engineer primary maybe able to build turrets and secondary fix vehicles. So by combining these two you could have a sniper/engineer who can cloak and repair vehicles unseen by the enemy or an Engineer/Sniper who can call in a UAV to find enemy choke points and build turrets there. These perks are just guess work, just to show what i mean, and of course you can stay just as the one class if you want to use both of there abilities. Im sure when i played BF2142 you was stuck with just the one class each spawn type. There is vehicle combat with tanks and aircraft by the looks of things but as yet unknown, no walkers though they was the coolest things in bf2142 lol.
