gcse exams

Had English Lit today, was pretty easy and ICt. ICT was the easiest thing I have ever don ein my life, and the last question about online shopping pros and cons just made me laugh. (Did AQA)

Tomorrow I have RE Marks Gospel, so just cramming that in.

Had music listening.. was a complete ****. Nothing like any past papers or mock exams, badly worded and some annoyingly hard questions and things adding to confusion. (Eg; 4 sections; each a different area of study with questions on that area, but some were fusion with other areas..)

Proper bad :/
Was aiming for an A* as I got 58/60 for courseowrk and the performing went well, but now I doubt it.. A is within reach, worked out I need to get 60/120 on this listening paper to get the A :P Shouldn't be too hard.

Got Tech Systems and control and English Drama(Journey's End) and Poetry(WWI Poems) on thurs then nothing till the 5th, when I get ~2 exams a day for 2 weeks :/]

Good luck everyone! :D

Balinese was the answer, it had something to do with the amount of instruments involved.
I guessed it, but got it right anyway.

That paper really did have some awfully worded questions though. The African Drumming track was great though.

Pah! GCSE's are nothing! Im doing 2 AS exams on Thurs and 5 on Fri! Ahh! :D

I was waiting for this comment  , but i know we will all be saying it next year/in a few years time.

English lit today and DT resistant materials on Thurs for me. I didn't find english impossible, but not a walk in the park. Out of all the exams, English Lit was the one i was most worried about, so i'm glad it's out of the way now (\o/ no more Chaucer).

wahey! i get 1 mark then, i guessed that one too! :p

For the one that starts the drumming, think it was on the african one, did you put leader?

GCSE's are a joke.

I did not revise one ounce and got 5 A* 5 A and 2 B

Good luck with University though lol

Lol@gamelan..

We went to cambridge to play it and it is _so_ dull :p

That question about the Raga + Western classical got me.. Didn't put WC as it wasn't an AOS3 style. Put Raga and Bangra as Bangra has synths :o

Also, having to notate 8 notes of that woman with the intense vibrato going all over the place was a challenge

Was the piece in aos2 serialist or minimalist? (The one which started with the shark attack style thing on a string quartet).
I said minimalist as it was loads of layers, but others said it was serialist.. I didn't here a prime order?

I found GCSEs more stressful than I'm finding AS exams. Everyone makes a big fuss about GCSEs as if they're the most important thing ever, but they're not worth worrying about - just try your best.

I think i put classical

How you are supposed to notate with the women shreeking was impossible, ecspeccially when the cd is played on a small portable player and it didnt help that it started vibrating when the women was shreeking :(

i actually enjoyed english lit partly because i thought it was going to be hard and i knew nothing about the poems but i worked my *** off and then in the exam i just couldn't stop writing. i would even go as far as saying i enjoyed it. had P.E yesterday but all the revision the school told us to do did not come up. but anyone i think ill do well as my practical work is an A already

Just had Eng Lit, did first part of it and got 37/40 A* :o

Just now was Old man and the sea, and World War 1 poems, I dont think I wrote what I should have done :(

Ah well, Geog next :(

GCSEs all around!

Well I had the english Lit and ICT (OCR) on Tuesday, next exam is tommorow... german listening :S Out of interest how much revision are you all doing for your exams? Same goes to those who have already done them?

I live on the Isle of Man so my holiday is week later than yours, so I have exams every day of the week during TT Race Week (holiday time) what makes it worse is that the main roads are closed then making it even more confusing getting to school and you have to stay around that area if you live anywhere near the course as you can't get home otherwise.

Hardly any for English, and i havent done anything for anything else either. I will start during the hols tho!

Im in the process of doing mine too, I've seen a few people who have said they've done OCR ICT on tuesday, but did anyone do Edexcel ICT? If so, did you find it quite challening? Was quite a lot harder than I expected. Had English Lit on tuesday as well, and just had Electronics this afternoon (was a walkover).
