Gearbox Modifications

Hi,

I'm due to pick up a gearbox just after the weekend from a 205 1.9 GTi.

Would it be possible to swap the 5th gear ratio across to my gearbox on my 1.6? It'd make for much nicer motorway driving, as 70mph at the moment is close to 3800rpm :eek:

I thought that only first and second were different between the two anyway?

I'm not sure to be honest, I thought that all the gearing was longer in the 1.9 box.

As far as i'm aware, yes.

So am I right in thinking that the only difference between the two is first and second gear?
