Gears of War 2 MP Game Arranging Thread

Good fun tonight, had to leave early but that game of 'capture the old guy' as someone called it was going on a bit anyway :D

Krono, can you add me to your friends list mate? I've got voice comms on friends only.

Good games guys, nice to be back with the gang :D

Was shocking at the start but was a lot better towards the end, the shotty just ain't the same and I hate chain sawing :(

Sid got a good few aswell :D

So far I've learned:
-Don't play Submission
-Don't play King of the Hill
-Don't let Sid & Krono handle any kind of explosives

People complain about the shotgun a lot, but I don't find it that much different tbh the only difference I notice is that it takes a couple more shots to kill somebody, which is how it should be IMO (unless you are directly infront of them obviously)

Because in Gears 1 I could actually headshot people with 1 shot who were 10ft away :rolleyes:

That rule holds true in real life as well.


The shotgun is definately better in my opinion. I still die to it a lot but that's because I'm either stupidly running at someone with a chainsaw or they catch me with it at point blank range. I haven't seen any jammy shots from a distance or fluke kills.

Also, no one has moaned about host advantage. Have they eliminated it?
 
Tonight I learned:

* Wingman will always team me up with someone less skilled than me.
* I am less consistent than the shotgun
* Alrik is a **** and should not be allowed to touch the grenades.
* Alrik will not think twice about stealing someone elses kill (and think even less about stealing my kills)
* Alrik is a **** who refuses to let me have kills. The number of times I downed someone for him to just run round the corner and pick them up was untrue.
* I am bait, and when I am bait I should run away rather than think I can Go all GoW 1 on their arses with the shotgun
* In a battle of Shotgun VS Chainsaw which ever one I am holding will lose
* Sid seems to be a bit sore about me calling him my ***** and has taken to killing me at every opportunity, regardless of what team I'm on
* Gord is a **** too.


I had fun though.

Exactly how I feel tbh.

The only thing that has been getting on my nerves is the chain saw, since the chainsaw dual animation will not trigger for me until it is almost over meaning I lose out in the dual almost every time. Then there is also the fact that I get chainsawed from behind when I am the one behind the person who is cutting my into 2 pieces :rolleyes:

I'm not sure really. You will notice it a lot when it passes the host to an American in matchmaking, but I've not really seen it in our private games.

It has been improved quite a bit (in customs), which I think is due to the new system they use, which is 1 host for the game while another is selected to host the voice chats.
 
i wish the better weapons would be spread randomly around the map,most of the time its first to the sniper or the granade launcher gun,wins the game.

Thats because on the first & second night everytime I downed somebody everyone else was all over it like flies around ****

If people won't steal mine I won't steal theirs, but its been happening so much over the past few days I just take any kills I can get.

What You have to learn is if Alrik wants a weapon, he will get it, and if its explosive then the enemy are ******

I spent months trying to perfect an anti-alrik-getting-the-boomer tactic in the mansion and it worked a sum total of once. :(
 
We're not playing submission again. Its too risky.

I love Wingman though.

And King of the Hill with friendly fire was amusing too.
