gears of war problem

Running vista 64 and 8800gt (new) 4 gig of ram on a q6600-Ds3r mobo
the game took over an hour to install and about 20 mins to decompress the files. It lets me get as far as trying to create a profile and just as it is about to begin, the game kicks me out. No error messages. Anybody had the same problem? Thank you.

New to playing games in Vista so can anybody explain how I go about trying to run a game as admin? Thank you as I have tried right clicking on the game shortcut icon and do not see the option. (Obviously I am doing something wrong)

Are you clicking esc when movies come on?

1) Probably goes without saying but are your video drivers the latest available?
2) You can right click a Game in the Vista Games browser, and choose Customize... Then choose the Edit button whilst Play (Play) is highlighted. Then on the Compatibility tab, tick Run this program as an administrator.
