Here's one for you!
I've noticed that when I plug an aux device (namely my ipod) into my Ford Fusion to listen to, the sound can be rather weird in certain gears, namely first and fifth. In first gear, it sounds like the entire right side of speakers in the car just aren't working, I just get left, which is rather annoying for some tracks which just have vocals/some instruments on the right side. As for fifth, its mostly the same, but is much more intermittant, wiggling the stick around, or going out and back into fifth can usually fix it.
And... I don't have a clue why its happening, and only those gears. Only thing I can think of is that the aux-in is next to the gearstick, so somewhere underneath the wiring's getting hit by the gearstick or something? It only happens for AUX, not the CD player or radio, and its not an issue with the cable as I've tried a couple of different ones.
Does this all make sense? I don't have a clue what's going on underneath all the plastic, so this could all be a load of rubbish, and if so is there a better explanation?
