What do you guys think of the GECUBE X1950Pro 512MB GDDR3? Is it a high-end card? I was thinking of getting it, Is it a good buy?

Views an opnions would be appreciated

Its a pretty damned fast card for Mid-high end usage. On agp, the x1950pro is the fastest card going, and its not bad in the PCI-E swimming pool. Depending on how much you pay, its not a bad card for less than £150ish, and the 512MB will help at high res or high AF/AA. Once you're spending 175-200, you're better off looking at the x1950xt. If you go look for reviews of X1900XT 512MB (the top end card, aside the XTX, about a year back), the x1950pro 512MB is anywhere between 0-10% slower than that, of course the gap is slightly wider if you're comparing it to the newer X1950XT 512MBs.

hey al, i notice u have gskill ram - i was also goin to be upgrading and i have seen some nicely priced gskill 6400, are they good m8?

The stuff I've got is cracking. In general as far as I know they're pretty good, and there RMA isnt meant too be bad. My stuff was rated 5-2-3@CAS 200Mhz, its currently running with those timings at CAS 2.5 at 217Mhz, but I got it up to 250Mhz by slacking timings and playing with voltages. Ended up with about 250Mhz 6-3-3@3/2.5 with 2.8V or something like that, which isnt bad at all, Im running a divider though, so i gain a little bandwidth and dont gain much latency. Was a great price when I bought it too, so as long as your mobo is compatible with G.Skill, I'd say go for it. People would probably be able to tell you if your DDR2 would be compatible with your mobo in the mobo forums :)

i've got some budget g skill that i got back in the states when ddr prices were low. 140 usd for 2 x 1gb...runs 2.5, 3, 3, 6 240mhz on 2.8v, 250mhz same timings on 2.9v

awesome memory
