Hi guys,

decided to go for a gecube, even though ive read bad reports about the cooler, im going to change it since the potential for an awesome card is there, for an AGP system, but what cooler?

passive is ok, but id rather it be active, ive looked at the S1, and turbo module by arctic? but what other options are there, which is the best cooler to go for, but please no water cooling.

Thanks in advance,

Neoni.

hr-03 is also another option and mod a 12cm fan onto it. all other cooler are just not up to the job of cooling a x1950xt. unless u use water or phase.

I was under the impression that the Peltier cooler strapped onto the Gecube was rather good?

If not, then pretty much the only thing that will 'unleash' a graphics card is water. And voltmods.

really i read a lot of bad reviews on it? hmm.... maybe new revisions released? anyone else?

I never knew of any problems with the thing, looked like a beast! I'd have loved one but I got the MSI x1950 for such a good price at the time I couldn't refuse.

the stock cooler is a peltier job and its far better than the regular stock ati cooler that comes on those cards. id keep the peltier cooler since it has the ability to handle high heat loads. just make sure your psu is up to the job and since your on agp i doubt there would be any need for you to overclock the card since your cpu is gonna be limiting it in most NEW games.

as for the cooler the best thing to do is buy the card, then see how it runs, and if your happy with its temps and noise then save yourself some money since there is no need to change the cooler.

Mmmmm... unless you're going to put it under water, there is going to be little gained from changing the cooler to another air-based solution in the performance stakes.

Reading about it, the stock cooler seems ok, but not better or worse than any others out there...
