GeForce 980 Problem "won't boot"

I know this may be incorrect forum? or incorrect place, if so i shall delete immediately.

Quick question really. It's been a while since i've tinkered with pcs however all my kit is only 1 year out. I have i7 gen3, gen3 motherboard, got a 1200w psu, and have been running a geforce 590 on it without issue for a few years.

My 980 arrived yesterday and i installed as I normally would (used to be a technician so it's not unfamiliar to me).

Booted up machine, installed latest drivers and all was great. Running my EVGA Geforce 980 all day playing games etc having a great time.

Wake up this morning, and my PC will not pass the boot screen, it freezes on the logo.

Asrock Fatality z68 pro gen3, debug error b2.

I tried taking out and reseating, tried a different pci slot etc with no success. I have had to take it out and put my old 590 in.

Any body familiar with this? Since the rest of my kit is so new and psu is more than enough I predicted no issues with my other kit?

Hope somebody can help
Thanks

[SOLVED] There seems to be an issue with some asrock boards and high-end nvidia cards. So simply update your bios to latest version, for me it was 23.A

Is there a bios update available for your motherboard, have you access to another PC to try the 9800 in?. The first things I would try, could be that you have been very unlucky and the 9800 is a deadun

I would do a CMOS reset and if that doesn't sort it, I would check to see if there is a newer MOBO BIOS for your board. The latter is probably the main cause of the problem.

Hi guys forgot to update you all.

Immediately after making this thread I gave up but saw on asrock site a bios update for 2013, I thought why the hell not and tried it.

running 23A, put my 980 back in and working fine again! :) Yey.

Thank for everybody who replied. I shall leave the thread up just encase anybody else get's a 980 and has a asrock m/b :).
