GeForce 9800 GX2 reviewer's guide + Benchmarks

the 9800gx2 is faster, who didn't know that it would be? the question is, do you play at 2560x1600? or at 1920x1200? or at 1680x1050 or even less? if at the highest possible res then yes a gx2 might be faster. at ANY res below that the 3870x2 is MORE than fast enough which means paying more is just, pointless.

Sure some people will do it, same way some people buy a cpu for £600 because officially it is the "faster" option even if you will never, ever see it being faster than a £60 cpu.

Other than for benching theres simply not much need right now for a faster card, the only game that really needs a lot of power needs real next gen + sli/crossfire , this card doesn't bring Crysis to the table with great performance with top settings, if thats the ONLY game that doesn't run well on the 3870x2, and it still doesn't run well on a card thats going to cost significantly more, than again, what the heck is the point, i mean at all?

Thats rubbish, just because your satisfied does not mean we don't need faster cards, we need them now more then ever as todays cards cannot cope with the latest games with AA at decent resolutions and sometimes even without AA the performance is still poor on the latest cards.

Even the 3870X2 performs simalarly the the 8800GTX released over 16 months ago and you think that we don't need faster cards?
