geforce 9800gx2

ok whats final is now that im going to buy a Sapphire ATI HD 6870 £195.00 next day delivery included
how long will it last me and is it any good (personal experience wise)

I think you made a wise choice.

Its one thing to want to play all your games max settings, but its another to realise that sometimes, thats just not neccessary.

You save some money as well. The performance of a 6870 is between the 5850 and the 5870.

Enjoy the card.

I hope you read the stuff I wrote above, and then made an informed decision?

Different games have different demands.

Even my 5870 cant max out some games.... Metro 2033 for instance, but even a GTX 480 cant max that game out.

However my 5870 can play the game with everything on excpet for 2 settings, and it still looks great!

What you have to remeber is what I told you about getting hardware that matches. I think the 6870 matches your cpu for performance. You should find most games you can indeed max out settings.

But there will be some you will have to scale back.

It looks like a nice card.

But if you want the BEST! you need to wait for the 6970....
Then the 6970 may be more than £300

If you had a psu powerful enough didnt mind high power consumption then this is the card I woud get: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-066-GI&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1810

But like I said the 6870 is a good match for your cpu... save your money and in two years time do a full system upgrade.
