Choose this instead, memories of Ibiza will live with you forever, TITAN will be forgotten about this time next year.

LOL!!

Exactly!!
lol! last time I went, walked out of west end apartment to beach, Fiat Talbot being chased by 2 Police cars, stopped, 4 police with guns to heads of 3 Africans, opened boot Kilos of white bags! only been there about half an hour!! lol

I guess I could sell my UP7 for around £200, keep using my MSI MPower, no graphics card at present so that's £400ish, would only be an extra £200 outlay, think I've talked myself into one! lol

wow thats changed a lot, from this

Did Nvidia get a massive 3 stage Crysis 3 boost?

At this very moment a 7970 can be had for £269 with about 8 free games.

A mate of mine bought one last week and got £60 for the games.

That means that 7970 Crossfire is around £420 right now.
CAn you link that 7970 with 8 free games please!! 2 is the most that I have seen. And I can't see any at £269.
He ain't about to link it, not that there's any to buy anyway, that particular deal ended a few days and limited numbers at that. Prices went up since.

I didn't read the articles but are they using the Beta 5 drivers?

BETA 6, i think i will wait for other reviews.

13.2 BETA 5 got a massive Crysis 3 performance boost, and the slide i posted was done long before that driver, so add that on.... 'i think' it was something like 60% with AA, i tested that and i think my results showed 50%, possibly in here somewhere... http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18483637

I haven't seen any information that Nvidia got a huge performance boost, perhaps the game its self has changed dramatically.

There will be a morsel other Crysis 3 benches coming, lets see.

You have got to just love the way some people compare performance with AMD's 7970 quoting prices from competitors and saying that you can get three for the price of one Titan, then in other post's saying that there is only a 30% difference in performance and just how not worth it it is.

Is that using stock 7970 GHz editions for performance and standard 7970's for price, or overclocked or even just pre overclocked standard cards, either way it would only be fair to also use the same pre overclocked or overclocked Titans in comparison.

To be honest there's no point comparing anything to Titan. Quite simply because it's not a 'fair' comparison.

It's kind of like me taking an octo cored Xeon workstation or a 48 cored Opteron workstation and then running CPU tests on it and showing you the scores to belittle your 2500k.

Titan is a rebranded server part. What it is actually good at is not used in gaming so it's just not a fair comparison.

I just hope for the owners of it that Nvidia put the time and effort into the drivers. No doubt like many other rebranded server parts it will never quite do what it was intended to but such is life.

When AMD released the under performing 7970 with nothing to compete with it, they charged over £470 (here prices) with Asus coming in at £560 for a reference card. People still went out and bought them. They knew Nvidia were on the horizon, so didn't esculate the prices even higher is my bet.

??

Sorry, but those prices were not typical of most retailers though,so trying to make the HD7970 look a £500 card,is really trying to be revisionist.

Plenty of cards were around £440 to £460 at many retailers. Early at launch they could be had for around £410 IIRC.

The more expensive cards did not sell well, and remember the criticism then??

Did many of us thought it was expensive for the price, yep. But then again many of us thought the GTX580 was expensive too compared to other cards like the GTX570 and HD6950.

So,the question has to be asked, why were you not complaining why the GTX580 3GB was that price, and why the GTX580 1.5GB was still priced the same as the HD7950 3GB?? Also consider that the GTX580 cards which could do surround gaming also were well above £400,ie,the Galaxy one.

Its funny how people make excuses for Nvidia charging high prices for older cards, and want AMD to undercharge for new ones.

So,perhaps you should complain at Nvidia for not starting a price war when the HD7900 series launched, especially since 40NM costs were lower anyway. They paid for completed chips with Fermi, unlike now,so they really could have made AMD sweat even then.

In the end, making excuses for Nvidia pricing,is why Geforce Titan costs £800+ it seems and is not nearer to £500 to £600.

Its here, http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18484469

50% (BETA 4)

Their graph, at these settings, looks way off. http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=23676956&postcount=22

Edit- it seems their results are just very different to gameGPU's results.

yup, you need to click on "1080p, Very High, 4x MSAA"

13.2 B3 = 28.2 FPS

13.2 B4 = 39.7 FPS (+ 41%)

They should have tested with 8x MSAA to...
