Geil ddr2 800 4gb

hmmm
slight issue here-maybe
tested all my ddr800 with everest and cpu-z
and it says that 2 sticks are 800, and 2 667, even though they are all 800, moved the sticks around the slots, and the affected memory slots 1 and 4 now say it is 667, so the memnory has taken the issue with it, any ideas

Can you just not go into your BIOS and change it accordingly?

What does the Memory tab of CPU-Z say? Double it to get the current speed.

Some of the older memory was programmed with slower SPD speeds than the newer stuff. Has been mentioned on the forums if you search.

Yeah, I got a little instruction slip telling me that I may have to manually set voltage, speed & timings etc.

thanks guys, however ,can someone just simply tell me what i have to do to address the issue

this is the issue
i have 4 sticks of geil 800 1gb each

2 read 800 and 2 read 667 no matter which slots they go in, the second set i bought always read 667 but they are supposedly 800.

anyone?

You're reading the SPD reading and not the current memory speed.

As I've mentioned, download CPU-Z and see what the Memory tab says.

So that means your RAM is now running at 700Mhz

FSB DRAM is 1:1 so you do 2x350(fsb) = 700Mhz RAM speed
