looking at getting my ram today, i was going to get corsair 2x2gb ddr3 in their weekly deal, but there is now geil ram that is slightly cheaper!
whats this stuff like is it as good/better, or am i better off staying with corsair???

Personally I'd go with the Corsair but that's just a personal preference thing as I have used Geil in the past without issue.
I'm currently running 2x2gb Corsair & i have to admit to abusing these sticks to death but they still run on with no issues at all.

Both top quality brands, Geil has been about for donkeys years, so no need to worry, they are up there with the likes of mushkin for top quality stuff.

So if its a bit cheaper then go for the Geil, no point spending more, for the same thing just from another maker.

Corsair and GeIL are great brands, but GeIL always used to be the ever slightly more reliable RAM in our RMA percentage reports.

Basically either are excellent. :)

I do not see why not, but it WILL invalidate warranty! As long as it is masked off, or you manage to remove them. I believe it is an electroplated finish.

lol, I have 4 of the DDR ultra's with bright orange shields, and they look reasonably smart for the money.TBH.. I think it's there more for the protection from handling/wacking than anything else lol.

I had mine clocked at 891 without issue (rated to 800) if that's the memory you happen to be looking at. They do run a little warm, but I've never had an issue with them.

The GEIL black dragon is excellent also, and that run's very cool.
