Yo guys, i basically have all my components arriving on Monday(some from here) and i was just wondering if anyone has any "first things" to do when you are a nub at this?

If i can, i would like to use this thread to ask for help. I will list what i have ordered,

1. I have my Corsair 520W PSU
2. Ordered my ICEQ3 3870 from here which will be here on Monday
3. Ordered my NZXT LEXA Blackline from here (Monday)
4. Crucial Ballistix 1066mhz.......ordering tonight
5. WD Hard Drive on the way
6. Have my quad on Monday
7. In the same delivery as my quad, i ordered a 18x Pioneer dvd burner.

Since i was getting a quad and ocing it to 3ghz, i think i need a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme cooler with an S-FLEX 1600RPM fan. My ideal board looks to be, Gigabyte GA P35-DS4. I however looked at the back of the board and saw this,

Can i still mount the back bracket?

Thanks. I'll have lots more questions.

I am fairly new at building PCs (only one which is the one I am using now) and I would advise give yourslef lots of room (the floor is good as things cant drop any further than the floor), lots of time, and to lay everything out before you start to ensure you have everything.

You may wish to test everything outside of the case (I didnt) but at least you know it will all work before screwing everything in. When installing the MB make sure it sits on the risers correctly (i.e. isnt going to short anything out) and that when connecting everything they are in nice and tight. I think I went for isntalling CPU first, then heatsink, drives, RAM and then finally graphics card making sure all cabling was neat, tidy and cable tied along the way.

As long as you take your time it cant really go wrong lol

I think you'd have to remove the Crazycool bit in order to fit any heatsink with a backplate.
