i've got a pretty generic 650W PSU, and I updated to the latest, so i'll downgrade to some older ones and see if the problem persists

This has been fixed... there was a Foo Fighters CD case covering the cpu fan. How that got there Abu Hamza knows as well as I do, thanks for the help though!

Have found out that this isn't a heat related issue and is an issue with one of the RAM modules. Just updating.
